Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Istoki (Origins) Youth Historical and Cultural Festival.
The message reads, in part:
“It is gratifying that your forum is becoming a tradition and has once again drawn young scientists, undergraduate and graduate students from teacher-training programmes, young people in creative industries, families with children, and children's movement activists from many regions of Russia – those who sincerely love their Motherland and are dedicated to studying its centuries-old history and culture, and to educating young people on the principles of high patriotic, spiritual and moral ideals and values.
The large and diverse programme of events includes lectures and debates, excursions and workshops, meetings with interesting people. In addition, this is a wonderful opportunity to visit the unique historical and architectural heritage of the hospitable Pskov region and to explore the ancient spiritual shrines first-hand.”
