The President paid tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, laying a wreath at the Eternal Flame and flowers on the tombstone of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal Vasily Chuikov, commander of the 62nd Army, famous for its heroic defence of Stalingrad.
After the President met with veterans to discuss matters of housing and social support. They also talked about preparations for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of Victory, and the preservation of monuments to the Great Patriotic War.
After the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev presented state decorations to veterans.
