Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants and guests of the 3rd Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Cooperation Forum, which opened in Kazan.
The message reads, in part:
“Region-to-region cooperation is a significant component of the strategic partnership and alliance between our countries. The regions of the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan conclude cooperation agreements, support active exchanges of official delegations and hold regular exhibitions and presentations on this subject.
Your forum is a truly effective means for direct dialogue, which includes heads of regional and municipal authorities, businesses, academics, and cultural and educational figures. It focuses on various aspects of region-to-region cooperation in industry, trade, transport, logistics, tourism and youth policy. Russian and Uzbekistani regions have accomplished projects in each of these areas, and it is now increasingly important to find new promising formats and methods of joint work, including coordinating roadmaps containing specific measures aimed at the development of region-to-region ties, and to clearly define the timeframe for implementing them.
I hope that your discussions at the forum will continue in this vein. And I have no doubt that the considerations and ideas you will express will serve to further build up fruitful Russia-Uzbekistan cooperation.”
