Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants in the No Statute of Limitations. Nazi Crimes against Humanity: History and Modernity International Research and Practice Forum.
The message reads, in part:
“Today, the No Statute of Limitations. Nazi Crimes against Humanity: History and Modernity International Research and Practice Forum opens here, in the Kaliningrad Region.
It is important that this large and highly needed project has united people of all ages and professions: government officials, representatives of public and volunteer organisations, experts, scientists, those who dedicate themselves to the vitally important job of preserving our historical memory and bringing up young people in the spirit of patriotism. It is largely thanks to you, your energy, personal involvement and dedication that a great deal of scrupulous work is being done to declassify archival documents and court decisions recognising the facts of the inhuman atrocities of the Nazis against civilians and prisoners of war. Other substantive initiatives are also being implemented.
Today we can see what tragic, destructive consequences the direct falsification of history and the acquittal of Nazi criminals and their accomplices can have for millions of people. Therefore, we must firmly and consistently defend the truth about the Great Patriotic War and resist any attempts to revise our country’s contribution to the Great Victory.”
