The message reads, in part:

“The creation of this foundation was a major milestone for the domestic scientific community and served to strengthen Russia’s creative potential.

Since its inception, the Russian Science Foundation has convincingly proved its relevance by making a significant contribution to the advancement of promising fields of scientific thought and modern technologies, as well as by implementing innovative projects and initiatives. The organisation has done a lot to support the achievements of young scientists.

I would like to emphasise that it is of the essence to give priority attention to applied projects and the practical use of the results of scientific research. I am referring, among other things, to such industries as microelectronics, medicine, low-carbon energy, agriculture, the environment and digital technology. And of course, a systematic approach is extremely important in your work and will certainly help strengthen the interaction between science and the real sector of the economy.”

During its decade of work, the RSF has supported 20,000 projects, with the involvement of more than 80,000 researchers. Total project financing amounted to 220 billion rubles.
