Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Peoples of Russia national forum.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, your forum has asserted itself as an influential platform for an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of issues related to implementing the state ethnic policy and making it more effective.
The diversity of languages, religions and customs is a huge resource of our Fatherland. Consequently, the state devotes tremendous attention to preserving the unique essence of every ethnic group in Russia. Of course, efforts to facilitate inter-ethnic peace and accord in the country, to strengthen our culture and traditional values have always been and remain a key and crucial objective. It is important that this work should fully involve the vast potential of religious, social and research organisations and ethnic and cultural associations.
I am convinced that all attempts to sow discord, mistrust and xenophobia between us, any provocations and aggressive actions directed against Russia are doomed to failure because we are a single nation bound by a shared history and fraternal ties of friendship and mutual understanding.”
