Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the Senators of the Russian Federation on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The message reads, in part:
“This important anniversary is closely linked to the establishment of modern Russian statehood, the strengthening of its democratic and constitutional foundations and the traditions of parliamentarianism.
Throughout the years, the Federation Council has played, without exaggeration, an enormous role in the development of our country and society, in shaping its legislative framework, strengthening the potential of Russian regions, and addressing key issues in the Russian economy and social system, science and education, healthcare and culture. You always prioritise the interests, problems and needs of the people, directing your efforts towards supporting veterans, pensioners, large families and young people.
Today, as we face global challenges, we hold the deepest respect for the proactive support of Russian senators towards the personnel serving in the special military operation, the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
I am confident that your expertise, responsible approach and constructive engagement with the executive branch, political parties and public associations will help you in your demanding and effective work, showcasing your dedication to Russia and its people.”
