Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants of the 9th Congress of the Donbass Volunteer Union.
The message reads, in part:
“Established in 2015, the Union brings together thousands of brave people, toughened by formidable challenges. Since the first days of the aggression against civilians in Donbass, led by neo-Nazis who seized power in Kiev, militia members and volunteers from every region of our vast country rallied to the rescue of their brothers, responding to the call of their hearts.
Members of the Union within the Armed Forces and volunteer groups are defending the Fatherland during the special military operation, liberating our historic lands. The citizens of Russia are proud of your valour and bravery, loyalty to the Motherland and your duty.
The comprehensive assistance that you provide to wounded comrades and the families of fallen heroes deserves the deepest respect, as does your sincere concern for raising the younger generation in accord with the principles of patriotism and traditional spiritual and moral values.”
