Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants in the 1st National Long Range Shooting Competition.
The message reads, in part:
“I extend my greetings to all of you on the opening of the 1st National Long Range Shooting Competition dedicated to the memory of a renowned sniper, Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Okhlopkov.
It is highly symbolic that the competition is held in Yakutia, the birthplace of this courageous and resolute man who fought on the frontlines and took part in the legendary Victory Parade.
I am confident that this competition, which has brought together both participants in the special military operation and law enforcement personnel, as well as amateur high-precision shooting enthusiasts, will become a significant event in the sports life of the republic and the entire Far East.”
