Vladimir Putin expressed his deep condolences to the family and friends of President of the Russian Federation Supreme Court Vyacheslav Lebedev, as well as to the entire judicial community.

The message of condolence, sent to Vyacheslav Lebedev’s family and friends, reads, in part:

“Vyacheslav Lebedev was a brilliant lawyer, a prominent scholar, and a teacher. He devoted his life to serving the law and made a truly outstanding contribution to the formation and development of today’s domestic legal and judicial system and legal science.

His colleagues and everyone who knew him appreciated him for his high professionalism, integrity, and dedication to his work.

The good memories of this wonderful man and true patriot will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and students, in all our hearts.”

Vyacheslav Lebedev passed away on February 23 at the age of 80.
