Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings on Sea and River Fleet Workers’ Day to the workers and veterans in the industry.
The message reads, in part:
“Water transport is an essential element of the national transport system. It plays an important role in the country’s socioeconomic development and promotion of interregional and international ties.
The industry boasts highly qualified specialists who know and love their job. You cherish the renowned traditions of your predecessors and work efficiently. Largely due to your competences, energy and commitment, new modern vessels are build, and efforts are made to increase the volume of passenger and cargo traffic, improve the quality and availability of services, upgrade coastal infrastructure, and pay particular attention to ensuring the security and safety of hydro-technical facilities.
I am confident that you will continue to address your tasks for the prosperity of Russia.”
