Concluding his working trip to St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin visited Oranienbaum Palace and Park Ensemble of the 18th century on the southern cost of the Gulf of Finland, which is part of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve.
The President was accompanied by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, Governor of St Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller. Roman Kovrikov, General Director of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve, gave explanations.
The President viewed the results of the completed restoration works partly financed by Gazprom. In particular, Vladimir Putin was shown the Chinese Palace – the personal residence of Catherine II – and the Sliding Hill Pavilion, which opened after a long restoration period.
