Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the current service personnel and veterans of the Airborne Forces on their professional holiday, Airborne Forces Day.
The message reads, in part:
“You have every right to be proud of the airborne infantry’s glorious past, as well as the names of its heroes – the Airborne Forces soldiers and officers, and their immortal feats. They proved their resilience, persistence, strong character and fortitude, courage and readiness to assist each other, sparing no effort to defend their Motherland.
Today, veterans, with their patriotic traditions, loyalty to the oath and camaraderie in arms, serve as role models for the current generation of Airborne Forces troops. These tenets help them fulfil challenging missions as part of the special military operation.
I am convinced that you will always be there to safeguard Russia’s independence and sovereignty, making a meaningful contribution to ensuring its defence capability and national security.”
