Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to Kostroma Region Governor Sergei Sitnikov on the region’s 80th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The residents of your ancient land have been known throughout history for their remarkable qualities, such as persistence, industriousness, magnanimity and hospitality, as well as a deep-rooted patriotism grounded in their love for the Motherland and respect for its great history.
Importantly, you continue to cherish the glorious traditions passed down by your fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. You actively engage in addressing the key challenges facing your region and our country as a whole. In addition to launching new industrial plants and production facilities, you remain dedicated to preserving the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of your homeland and saving the Volga, our great Russian river. I would also like to note your sincere commitment to developing the original, world-famous arts, crafts and domestic industries.”
