Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the staff of the Vishnevsky National Medical Research Centre of Surgery on its 80th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Outstanding members of our medical community – scientists, clinicians and managers of our health system – stood at the origins of the centre. Many of them had barely returned from the frontlines where they provided medical assistance to wounded soldiers and officers in difficult wartime conditions. It goes without saying that outstanding scientist and surgeon Alexander Vishnevsky, whose 150th birthday anniversary we are marking these days, had a huge and even unique role in the establishment of the institute.
It is gratifying to see that the current personnel continue to uphold the professional and moral values of their predecessors, carrying on the traditions of compassion, selfless devotion and a strong sense of duty. The centre conducts important research and develops modern treatments, medical technologies and rehabilitation methods in all areas of surgery. I would like to emphasise the quality medical assistance you are providing to participants of the special military operation.”
