Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to current and retired Russian road workers on Road Worker’s Day.
The message reads, in part:
“The Russian road industry has always employed highly qualified professionals with excellent knowledge of and commitment to their job. Each new kilometre of a road or a bridge is the result of tremendous creative efforts by designers, engineers, builders and other professionals.
I want to specially note your massive work as part of the Safe and High-Quality Roads national project. We shall continue to improve road infrastructure in cities and rural communities and expand the network of federal, regional and local motorways. The industry as a whole faces big comprehensive challenges such as creating modern logistical itineraries of national and global importance needed for developing business, untapping the socioeconomic and tourist potential of our regions, and raising the quality of life of our people.”
