Greetings to the School Museum of Victory National Convention

October 24, 2024

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants in the School Museum of Victory National Convention and congratulated them on the fifth anniversary of this project to promote historical knowledge and education.

The message reads, in part:

“Your magnificent project has attracted thousands of school museums from across the country, and emerged as one of the most successful initiatives dealing with historical knowledge and education.

School museums preserve and cherish the memory of the Great Patriotic War by telling the stories of heroes and the feats they accomplished both on the battlefield and when working for the front in the rear. These institutions bring together school students, their parents, teachers, representatives of veteran, patriotic and volunteer organisations – all those who sincerely love our Motherland and view the history of their cities and villages with pride. It is thanks to your efforts, creative energy and enthusiasm that we have new interactive spaces, information stands and multimedia exhibitions, as well as new educational, outreach and cultural initiatives. On a separate note, I would like to thank the Central Museum of the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War, the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Military Historical Society, as well as the corresponding ministries and agencies for their effective efforts and assisting and accompanying the School Museum of Victory programme.

Next year, in 2025, we will be marking 80 years of the Great Victory. It is our common duty to properly mark this sacred anniversary. I am certain that each of you will effectively contribute to this effort.”
