Dmitry Medvedev and Viktor Yanukovych congratulated each other on the simultaneous ratification of the agreement on the Black Sea Fleet in the State Duma and Verkhovna Rada [their respective parliaments]. During the telephone conversation, the presidents of Russia and Ukraine highlighted the importance and mutual advantages of this document.

Mr Medvedev and Mr Yanukovych also exchanged views on the current state of Russian-Ukrainian cooperation and discussed preparations for the President of Russia's official visit to Ukraine to take place on May 17–18, 2010.
