Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Emir Kusturica on the occasion of the film director’s 70th birthday.
The message reads, in part:

You have also made your mark as a sought-after actor, musician, and writer, and as a creator of extraordinary creative projects. Your brilliant work has written a vibrant chapter in the history of world art.
I would particularly like to highlight your active civic stance and your tremendous contribution to significant humanitarian initiatives aimed at fostering trust and mutual understanding among nations.”
