Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the staff of the Russian Health Ministry’s National Medical Research Centre for Endocrinology on its 100th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The establishment of the Centre became an important milestone in the development of endocrinology and a significant event in the history of the national healthcare system. Founded at the initiative of outstanding researchers and healthcare managers Nikolai Semashko and Vasily Shervinsky, the Centre brought together talented scientists, doctors, clinicians, biologists and professionals from other fields –like-minded individuals and innovators who were deeply dedicated to the cause.
I am pleased to note that today, specialists of the highest qualification continue to work here, including recognised leaders of Russian and global science. The centre retains wonderful traditions passed down from generation to generation. Alongside extensive clinical practice, the National Medical Research Centre for Endocrinology conducts fundamental and applied research, implementing effective and innovative developments. They include genetic technologies and personalised medicine models, which offer unique opportunities for preventing, diagnosing and treating dangerous diseases.”
