I congratulate you on Special Operations Forces’ Day.

The unification of mobile special forces units equipped with the most up-to-date weapons and equipment under a single command has been a significant milestone in the development of the Russian Army. It has greatly enhanced the combat capability of the Armed Forces and enabled the execution of critical, often unique, missions in the interests of our country – protecting our citizens and Russia’s sovereignty.

From the very beginning, your ranks have been filled with highly trained, battle-hardened soldiers. You and your comrades continue the noble traditions of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, carrying forward the legendary legacy of our special forces. Already, you have written new, remarkable chapters in Russia’s military history. In 2014, soldiers and officers of the Special Operations Forces swiftly came to the aid of the people of Crimea and Sevastopol.

Today, your combat experience, training and technical capabilities play a key role in the special military operation. On the line of combat and behind enemy lines, in frontline and border areas, you act with courage and determination, proving time and again that no mission is impossible for you.

On this special day, I want to express my gratitude to all personnel and veterans for your professionalism and dedication, for your unwavering commitment to military duty and the Oath of Allegiance, and for your bravery and resilience in carrying out the most challenging combat missions.

Let me emphasise: the systematic and strategic development of the Special Operations Forces will continue. We will further enhance the combat capabilities of your units, equipping them with the most advanced weaponry, gear, communications systems, and electronic warfare tools. In short, we will do everything necessary to ensure that your units become even more mobile, technologically advanced, and effective, remaining a true strike force of Russia.

Our nation takes great pride in you and your achievements. I am confident that you will continue to move forward, refining your skills and securing new victories while steadfastly defending our citizens and the national interests of the Fatherland.
