On the 25th anniversary of the heroic act by the paratroopers of the 6th Airborne Company, Vladimir Putin made a telephone call to Lidiya Yevtyukhina who in 2000 lost her son – Battalion Commander Hero of Russia Mark Yevtyukhin.
In the telephone conversation, the President once again gave the highest praise to the heroes of the 6th Airborne Company, noting that this feat would be remembered in Russia forever.
Lidiya Yevtyukhina keeps in touch with all those who lost their relatives in that glorious battle, coordinates assistance, fulfils various requests of the families of the fallen soldiers, and has been doing this voluntarily for a very long time now. Vladimir Putin has repeatedly communicated with the woman and maintains warm relations with her.
