Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Russian Federation Criminal Code with regard to Penalties in the Form of Compulsory Labour.
The Federal Law’s provisions considerably expand the list of articles in the Criminal Code under the provisions of which sentences of compulsory labour can be applied for minor or moderately serious crimes.
The law expands options for courts in awarding sentences other than imprisonment.
