The message reads, in part:

“This highly revered holiday, celebrated by Jews around the world, commemorates a major and truly monumental event in the history of the Jewish people – their liberation from slavery and the long-awaited attainment of freedom.

It is heartening that Jewish communities in Russia are doing much to preserve ancient religious and national customs and traditions, fostering in young people a deep respect for the invaluable cultural and spiritual heritage of their ancestors. Of course, the active involvement of Russian Jews in the country's public life and in the implementation of meaningful patriotic, charitable, educational and cultural initiatives, deserves the most sincere recognition.”
