Greetings on the opening of International Anti-Fascist Forum

April 22, 2025

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants of the International Anti-Fascist Forum dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The message reads, in part:

“The Forum, organised on the initiative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and other socio-political forces of the country, has brought together in Moscow participants from many countries, including prominent politicians, representatives of trade union, veteran, women’s, and youth movements.

I would like to note that all parliamentary parties of Russia and responsible socio-political associations have adopted a consolidated patriotic position, are defending the sovereignty of the country, and seeking to establish good relations with our foreign partners, and everyone else who hold in high regard the ideals of peace and justice. Together, they implement the initiatives aimed at preserving the historical memory of the bloodiest war of the 20th century, the immortal feat of the Red Army soldiers and commanders who crushed Nazism.

I want to emphasise that today it is important to join our efforts to prevent the spread of racism, Nazism, fascism, Russophobia, anti-Semitism, and other aggressive ideologies based on inciting hatred, intolerance, and propaganda of national exceptionalism. This is our common duty before the present and future generations.”
