Vladimir Putin sent greetings to current workers and veterans of the chemical industry and science on Chemist’s Day, which was established 60 years ago, in May 1965.
The message reads, in part:
“The chemical industry is a key sector of the national economy that plays a critical role in ensuring technological sovereignty and the country’s defence capability. The advancement and production of cutting-edge materials, essential components for the fuel and energy sector, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, agriculture, and other industries depend directly on the tireless and innovative efforts of your enterprises and research institutions.
Today, intensifying scientific research, introducing innovative technologies that align with international safety and environmental standards, and prioritising the attraction of substantial investments are essential in order to move forward with confidence and remain competitive on the global stage. Equally important is the creation of advanced chemical clusters with fully integrated production cycles. And, obviously, special focus must be placed on training highly skilled professionals that have most advanced competencies.”
