The message reads, in part:

“Established in 2015, the union has brought together thousands of courageous, brave, strong-willed people, including members of the militia, volunteers and those who, during the life-altering days and months for the entire Russian world stood up to defend the people of Donbass, their freedoms, dignity, and their right to their native language and culture.

I know that to this day, many of you remain among the fighters on the front line, facing arduous and demanding combat missions alongside your fellow service members, demonstrating courage and valour, resilience and unwavering solidarity. In particular, I wish to commend the invaluable support that the Union of Donbass Volunteers extends to our veterans and the families of fallen comrades, as well as your active role in fostering patriotism among youth, advancing the volunteer movement, and other vital initiatives.

I am convinced that as before, you will carefully preserve the traditions of your combat brotherhood and faithfully serve the interests of Russia and our nation.”
