Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the 19th Reporting and Election Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
The message reads, in part:
“As one of the country’s oldest and leading political parties, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation represents the interests of a considerable number of voters. Over 10,000 of your deputies serve in representative bodies at all levels of government, putting forward concrete initiatives and proposals aimed at protecting citizens’ social and labour rights, and supporting industry, the defence sector, agriculture, education, and science. The CPRF’s supporters actively contribute to projects that strengthen Russia’s sovereignty across all domains and foster patriotic education among the younger generation. You have consistently pursued open dialogue with the public, addressed pressing issues and proposed practical solutions.
Today, as we confront serious challenges and defend the future of our Fatherland, broad-based, truly nationwide unity is of paramount importance. In this context, I welcome your commitment to constructive cooperation with other political parties and civic associations in addressing the key objectives of national development.
I would like to highlight the highly professional work of your faction in the State Duma, including in areas such as parliamentary diplomacy, preserving historical memory, and building partnerships with our friends around the world. A major and meaningful contribution to this cooperation was the International Anti-Fascist Forum, held at the initiative of the CPRF in the run-up to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
I wish the Congress fruitful discussions and count on our continued joint efforts for the good of the Fatherland and our people.”
