The meeting discussed the introduction of preferential treatment for highly skilled foreign specialists invited to work in Russia under economic modernisation programmes. A corresponding law has already been approved by both chambers of the parliament.

The President emphasised that under the new law, foreign specialists will essentially be equated to Russian citizens, and this should facilitate attracting more of such specialists to sectors where Russia is in need of highly-qualified specialists and foreign specialists overall.
