Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to the participants, organisers, and guests of the World Youth Festival Assembly.
The message reads, in part:
“Today, active and ambitious young people from across Russia and abroad, eager to connect with their peers, gathered in Nizhny Novgorod. Many of you took part in the 2024 World Youth Festival and are meeting here again to recall its highlights and to recharge with positive energy for new and inspiring undertakings.
I would like to stress that we made every effort to ensure the festival in Sirius was held to the highest standard, becoming a welcoming platform for creativity, the exchange of ideas and experiences, and a space where friendship, trust, and mutual understanding prevail. Together, we achieved this.
It is vital that this meaningful and productive dialogue continues. To that end, international friendship clubs have been established to promote your joint projects and initiatives, and to expand opportunities for professional development for young people who come to our country from abroad. For the first time, summer schools have also been launched at year-round youth educational centres. And, of course, it is particularly gratifying that such large festival events as today’s assembly will now take place in our country annually.”
