Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to Zoya Boguslavskaya, the widow of Andrei Voznesensky, following the poet’s death.
The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“Andrei Voznesensky was a man whose work created a whole epoch in the history of Russian literature. He was one of the brightest lights among the famous ‘sixties’ generation, and possessed tremendous talent and a unique poetic voice. His works are known by millions not only in Russia but abroad too.”
Andrei Voznesensky died aged 77 after being seriously ill for some time.
