In the course of the meeting Dmitry Medvedev informed the minister that he had signed a number of laws aimed at reforming the Interior Ministry.
The President said the laws would make the Ministry’s operation more effective and increase its responsibility to the nation.
In addition, law enforcement officers who intentionally fail to fulfil an order will face more severe punishment up to criminal liability.
The documents also provide social guarantees to police officers and clarify their status.
