Instructions to Federal Security Service, Prosecutor General's Office and Healthcare and Social Development Ministry in connection with explosion in Pyatigorsk

Dmitry Medvedev issued instructions to the Federal Security Service and Prosecutor General's Office to take all the necessary measures to investigate and uncover the circumstances of the explosion.

Healthcare and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova and Stavropol Territory Governor Valery Gayevsky also received instructions to do everything possible to assist the victims.

The explosion took place on Kirov Street in Pyatigorsk at 4:11 p.m. Moscow time. According to the latest reports, 17 people were injured in the explosion.

Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov immediately informed the President about the incident and the relief efforts.

Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin briefed Mr Medvedev on the steps being taken to assist the victims.
