Dmitry Medvedev was briefed by Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov on the situation in Buinaksk, where a terrorist attack took place at a firing range used by the Defence Ministry’s 136th Motor Rifle Brigade.
Mr Serdyukov reported to the President on the measures taken to reinforce security at military facilities and training grounds.
Three people were killed in the attack and 34 servicemen were injured.
