The message reads, in part:

“Today the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) is the largest nationwide trade union association. The Federation plays an important part in protecting the rights of employees in virtually all sectors of the national economy and strengthening social partnership and harmonising labour relations.

I hope that FNPR will contribute to the modernisation and technological upgrading of industry, growth of productivity, and introduction of advanced management techniques, while vigorously protecting the interests of employees and helping to improve their living standards, and building constructive cooperation between the trade unions, the government and employers.”
