Russian-Slovenian talks

November 17, 2010, The Kremlin, Moscow

Dmitry Medvedev and Slovenian President Danilo Turk discussed bilateral investment cooperation in the energy sector, including on the South Stream project, and trade and economic cooperation.

Intensifying the trade and economic partnership and enhancing its mechanisms in line with Russia’s modernisation policy was a focus of the talks.

The two leaders also exchanged views on current international and European affairs, including in connection with the upcoming OSCE summit in December, and discussed the opportunities for expanding cultural and humanitarian, science and education, and sports contacts.

The two presidents signed a Declaration on Partnership for Modernisation between the Russian Federation and Slovenia following their talks and oversaw the signing of cooperation programmes in the culture, science, education, sports, and tourism sectors, as well as an intergovernmental memorandum on important projects for expanding economic cooperation.

The Slovenian President is in Russia on an official visit until November 19, and will also visit St Petersburg and Samara.
