After touring the Academy, the President said that the proven record of this military institute for higher education should be used in the modernisation of Russia's system of military instruction.

The head of state visited classrooms, laboratories, multimedia classrooms, the barracks and the gym.

The Academy is not only a military school for Russia’s armed forces but also a major scientific centre for the study of the technology of organic substances, the development and production of special materials and biological defenses for troops and the environment.

In addition to personnel officers, the Academy prepares civil engineers specializing in the chemical industry.

Cadets and trainees from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Sweden, Greece, Vietnam, Laos, Ethiopia and other countries are taught in a special department of the Academy.
