Allow me to warmly welcome you to St Petersburg.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to spend several hours together in an informal setting. I am thankful that you decided to arrive before the summit started. And today with our other colleagues we will still have other opportunities to discuss bilateral issues and issues on the international agenda. And it is very important for us, Mr President, to synchronise watches with you and with your Administration on these issues. I hope that this will act as a good stimulus for the whole G8 summit in St Petersburg.
We are hoping for your support during this international event.
