President Vladimir Putin: It gives me great pleasure to see you here in St Petersburg. I am pleased to see the positive way the relations between our two countries are developing. I would like to congratulate you on the successful organisation of the international energy sector event in which Russian representatives also took part. I hope very much that during your work at the St Petersburg Economic Forum you and your colleagues will find new opportunities for cooperation with Russia, and not only in the energy sector.

Sheikh Al Thani: I am very happy to see you, Mr President. First of all, thank you very much. I would like to convey the best wishes of the Emir of Qatar and the Crown Prince of our country. For my part, I would also like to congratulate you on the St Petersburg Economic Forum, which is gaining popularity throughout the entire world. We are very interested in developing our bilateral cooperation with the Russian Federation, and our relations were given a significant boost by your visit to Doha in February and your meeting with the Emir of Qatar. I stress that we are interested in developing relations with your country in all different areas. Once again, thank you for your hospitality.
