President of The Uae Sheikh Khalifa Al Nahyan: I am very pleased to see you and your accompanying delegation. We very much wanted this visit to take place and it gives us great pleasure to see you here today.
Our countries are bound by very good relations and multifaceted cooperation covering a very wide range of areas. We hope very much that during your visit we will achieve the objectives of opening up new areas of cooperation and activating our work together.
President Vladimir Putin: It gives me great pleasure to make use of your invitation and visit your country, a country with which we do indeed have good relations in the political and economic spheres and in the area of humanitarian exchanges.
Russia has traditionally good relations with the Arab world and we see one of our objectives today as being to do everything we can to help settle all the problems in the region. Russia is close to this region and we would like to broaden the geography of our relations in the region.
Our political relations are excellent and our countries are engaged in a good and constructive dialogue. There is also much that we can and need to do in the economic sphere.
