Greetings on Teacher’s Day

October 5, 2025

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Friends,

I am really happy to wish a happy Teacher’s Day to all the educators of our vast country and thank them for their hard and very demanding and noble work.

You are devoting all your strength and energy to the crucial mission which is literally looking forward into the future. You are doing your best to make sure that children and teenagers, your students acquire the knowledge they need in the contemporary world and a solid foundation of values. This means that they will be able to feel confident in adulthood, achieve successes that would determine their own fate and the fate of our country.

Your work enjoys well-deserved respect in society and, perhaps, like no other, requires patience, wisdom, spiritual generosity, an ability to see a spark of talent and abilities in every child, to help them understand themselves and the world around them.

Today’s holiday evokes special, warm feelings among millions of our fellow citizens. It is dear and meaningful for those who are currently studying in schools, colleges, vocational schools and universities; for their parents, loved ones, and all Russian families; for adults who, years later, remember their teachers with gratitude, and I am sure they are an absolute majority in our country.

We are proud of our own, very strong school of teaching, innovative ideas, and unparalleled practices. After all, it is the high quality of education, including basic school education, that ensures that our country can solve the toughest tasks and achieve scientific and technological leadership.

It is important that we maintain the continuity of teaching schools so that teachers can learn from their colleagues, while advanced and unconventional methods are available and widely used across the country.

Professional skills competitions play a great role here. The results of the main one, the national one, are traditionally summed up by Teacher’s Day.

We really have a lot of gifted, amazing, sincerely devoted teachers. Their example inspires both their colleagues and students who are just choosing a profession. This means that the best traditions of Russian pedagogy will definitely be continued.

Once again, please accept my congratulations on Teacher’s Day. I wish you and your loved ones health and wellbeing, and to your students – achievements that we will all take pride in.

Happy holiday to you!
