President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: Mr President,
Once again, I wish you a sincere welcome to Azerbaijan. We are always happy to see you here.
This is a good opportunity to see each other and discuss different issues of mutual interest. We are very happy with the way our relations are developing. Our frequent visits to each other are a good indicator of our relations.
We have a wide-ranging agenda and are working together in various areas. Our relations are distinguished by their sincerity, they are those of good neighbours, friends, and strategic partners.
I am sure that your visit to our country will be very important for developing and advancing our ties, all the more so as we have plenty to discuss and some important decisions to make.
Once more, I welcome you from all my heart.
President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev: Thank you, Mr President, for these kind words and for the hospitality that our delegation already had a taste of yesterday. Today our main talks are taking place.
We do indeed have good, friendly, neighbourly, strategic relations. I hope that during this visit we will address current issues on our bilateral and regional agendas, as well as international matters, and of course sign some important documents that we have been discussing for some time now, and on which our teams have been working. Today is therefore a very important day.
As for the future, I agree completely that the fact that we meet regularly here in Azerbaijan, in Russia, and in other places at various summits is the guarantee of close, strong and friendly relations in the years to come. This is our vision of the relations between our two countries.
