Meeting of working group to monitor implementation of State Council decisions on implementing Presidential instructions on comprehensive development of Far Eastern regions

September 7, 2018, Vladivostok

Presidential Aide Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the working group to monitor the implementation of decisions of the State Council and its Presidium on fulfilling the Presidential instructions On the Comprehensive Development of Far Eastern Regions of October 13, 2017.

Speaking at the meeting of the working group were Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East Alexander Krutikov, as well as representatives of the Finance and Transport ministries.

The meeting participants reviewed information on introducing amendments to the current legislation to attract investors to the region, simplifying the employment process for foreign citizens, providing land plots to participants in the state programme to assist the resettlement in Russia of compatriots living abroad, upgrading the region’s transport infrastructure and building new border checkpoints in the Far Eastern Federal District.

It was noted that a large part of the instructions had not been fulfilled due to delays in the interagency coordination of legislation by federal executive bodies. It is planned to discuss this issue at the meeting of the State Council Presidium.

Following the meeting, it was recommended to take extensive measures to completely fulfil the Presidential instructions on the watch list.
