Meeting of the State Council working group on improving housing and creating a comfortable urban environment

Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin chaired the second meeting of the working group to prepare the expanded State Council Presidium meeting on the Russian Federation regional executive authorities’ work aimed at improving housing conditions and creating a comfortable urban environment.

Head of the working group, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and head of the State Council editing group, Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Vladimir Yakushev reported on the progress in the preparation of the report setting priorities for improving housing conditions and creating a comfortable urban environment.

The meeting participants discussed the development of engineering, transport and social infrastructure, modernisation of the construction industry and improving the quality of mass housing construction, as well as reducing the administrative burden on property developers, streamlining construction regulations and improving financing mechanisms for housing construction.

They also reviewed key aspects of efforts to relocate people from unfit housing and the problems of defrauded investors.

Taking part in the meeting were Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, Ivanovo Region Governor Stanislav Voskresensky, Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Gleb Nikitin, Altai Territory Governor Viktor Tomenko, Novosibirsk Region Governor Andrei Travnikov and Kemerovo Region Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
