Dmitry Medvedev congratulated President-Elect of the Federative Republic of Brazil Dilma Vana Rousseff Linhares.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva discussed economic cooperation opportunities and current international issues, including the Middle East peace process, the Iranian nuclear programme, and the situation in South America.

The Brazilian President will visit Russia at Dmitry Medvedev’ invitation. The two leaders will hold talks on May 14, 2010.

Dmitry Medvedev answered questions from Russian journalists at the end of his visits to Argentina and Brazil.

The two presidents discussed primarily international affairs, including the Iranian nuclear programme.
