Greetings on Belarus Republic Independence Day

July 3, 2016

Vladimir Putin congratulated President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the country’s national holiday, Independence Day.

In his message of greetings, the President of Russia highlighted that the holiday serves as a reminder of the great deed of those who freed Belarus from Nazi invaders more than seven decades ago. “Our friendship and mutual support that were seasoned during the severe years of war continue to serve as a reliable basis for allied relations between our countries,” Vladimir Putin stressed.

The President of Russia was pleased to note positive dynamics in bilateral cooperation in various spheres and the high efficiency of cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union and other multilateral structures and expressed confidence in the further growth of the entire complex of mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian ties for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
