President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping will make a state visit to Russia on March 22–24, 2013.
The two leaders will discuss key bilateral cooperation issues, including trade, economic, energy and investment ties, technology and industrial cooperation, inter-regional and humanitarian contacts.
The agenda also covers a broad range of current international and regional affairs, among them the Middle East and North Africa, including the Syrian crisis, developments in Iran and Afghanistan, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia in general. Deepening cooperation within the UN and other multilateral groups such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the BRICS group, the G20, and APEC will also be a subject of discussion.
The talks are expected to see the signing of a number of important bilateral agreements that will further develop the strategic Russian-Chinese partnership.
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will also take part in the opening ceremony of the Year of Chinese Tourism in Russia.
