On July 19, Vladimir Putin will meet with King Juan Carlos I of Spain, who will make a working visit to Russia at the President’s invitation.

A ceremony will take place at the Grand Kremlin Palace, during which Mr Putin will present King Juan Carlos I with the certificate and honorary symbol of laureate of the Russian National Award for Outstanding Achievements in Humanitarian Work (the award was given to King Juan Carlos I by presidential executive order of February 23, 2011).

President Putin and HM Juan Carlos I intend to discuss bilateral cooperation in various areas.

Within the framework of the visit, the two leaders also plan to meet with Russian and Spanish business people in order to give an additional boost to bilateral trade and economic ties and develop joint investment projects, including cooperation in the oil and gas sector, hi-tech sector, energy, and transport infrastructure. The first meeting of this kind took place in St Petersburg in February 2011.
