The official ceremony to welcome the President of Russia, who has arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit, took place at the residence of the President of Kazakhstan. After the ceremony, Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting in narrow format and were later joined by members of their delegations.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union and pressing international issues.
A number of documents were signed following the talks, including a document on delimitation of the part of the Caspian Sea bottom to implement the sovereign rights for subsoil use; an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in aviation search and rescue operations and interaction in conducting space launches from the Russian site in the Dombarovsky positional area, and a document on expanding cooperation in automotive industry.
