Meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council

Vladimir Putin took part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

Taking part in the restricted format meeting were leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries: President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The heads of the observer states – President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev – as well as CIS General Secretary Sergei Lebedev joined the work of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council during its expanded format meeting.

A package of documents was signed following the meeting, including, in particular, the decision On Commencing Negotiations with Mongolia on Concluding an Interim Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Its Member States as the First Party, and Mongolia as the Second Party, and the decision On Issues of Signing a Protocol of Electronic Information Exchange between the Eurasian Economic Union and its Member States as the First Party, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as the Second Party, within the Framework of the Electronic System of Certification and Verification of Origin of Goods.
